Professional wrestling career

Prior to his pro debut, Hayato also trained under mixed martial artist Norifumi "KID" Yamamoto, and as a tribute to his trainer he dubbed his finishing hold, the guillotine choke, the "K.I.D."

Fujita "Jr." Hayato made his pro debut in the main event of Michinoku Pro's December 3, 2004 event in Tokyo's Korakuen Hall. He lost to Katsuhiko Nakajima via a crab hold.
